EA today unveiled five “game-changing” and “revolutionary” innovations that will make FIFA 13 the greatest and most realistic football game ever developed (according to them, of course). But hey, FIFA 12 currently holds that title, so you’d expect 13 to snatch it anyway, wouldn’t you?
“We are perfecting the best sports game in the world with innovations that capture all the drama and unpredictability of real-world football,” said David Rutter, Executive Producer for FIFA 13. “These are game-changing innovations that will revolutionize our artificial intelligence, dribbling, ball control and collisions to create a true battle for possession across the entire pitch, and deliver freedom and creativity in attack.”
So, new AI? Better dribbling? Player collisions? Well, these kind of went without saying. Imagine if they tried to sell us a new FIFA game without updated features like this – every year, football gamers expect improvements in all these areas.
Sure, I admit that it looks nice, but I cast mine eye upon thou with both scepticism and excitement, EA. Will it be worth staying up-to-date with the yearly franchise, or will I just stick with my FIFA 11 that I purchased for $10 upon release of FIFA 12 last year? Only time will tell.
